Dr. Lauren Cudney, Psychologist (Supervised Practice)

Dr. Lauren Cudney is a Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice) in clinical and health psychology who provides assessment and treatment for adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, grief and bereavement, and significant life stressors. She works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand their experiences, develop practical coping strategies, or work towards achieving work-life balance.

Lauren has a particular interest in health psychology, supporting individuals who are coping with sleep difficulties (including insomnia), chronic pain, cancer, new medical diagnoses, or the ongoing challenges of living with chronic health conditions. She understands how closely physical health and emotional well-being are connected, and helps clients navigate the uncertainty, frustration, and identity shifts that can come with these experiences. She also specializes in women’s health, working with clients through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and the menopause transition, as well as concerns such as chronic pelvic pain and complex or ongoing health conditions.

Her approach is warm, client-centred, and integrative, while grounded in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. She incorporates emotion-focused and behavioural strategies, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. Lauren completed her Ph.D. at McMaster University and currently works at the Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic. She is completing her supervised practice under Dr. Kevin Jones and Dr. Katie Hildyard, with training across hospital-based programs in anxiety, behavioural medicine, chronic pain, women’s health, and psychosocial oncology.
