Dr. Kevin Jones
Dr. Kevin Jones, Director of Burlington Psychological and Counselling Services, has been working in private practice since 2004. He is a licensed clinical psychologist, registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. He has also held positions at the Chronic Pain Management Unit at Chedoke Hospital, and the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton. Dr. Jones has been certified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist by the Canadian Academy of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT). He is a former Diplomate member of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management (CAPM). He is also a member of a number of several other professional organizations, including the Ontario Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
Dr. Jones works with adults and adolescents in the area of Clinical, Health and Rehabilitation psychology. He has a special interest in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for depression, anxiety disorders, chronic pain, and a wide range of stress-related illnesses. He incorporates elements of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into his clinical work. He works extensively with motor-vehicle accident (MVA) survivors, brain injury survivors, as well as those who have sustained work-related injuries. Dr. Jones conducts medical-legal evaluations with motor vehicle accident survivors. He enjoys working with teen clients who are struggling with life direction issues, substance abuse problems, or relationship difficulties.
