Dr. Chandan Preet
Dr. Chandan Preet obtained her Ph.D. from Panjab University in India and is currently registered as a Psychologist in Supervised Practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), which allows her to practice under the supervision of Dr. Katie Hildyard. She works with children, adolescents and adults facing various mental health challenges, including mood, anxiety, trauma, life-related stressors, interpersonal difficulties, and emotional dysregulation. She has trained and worked in diverse settings including community mental health agencies, outpatient hospital programs, university clinics, school boards, addiction treatment facilities, harm reduction centres and private practice.
Dr. Preet’s approach to therapy is integrative in nature and draws from a variety of modalities to best fit her client’s needs and goals. In the treatment process, she draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based interventions. As a first-generation Canadian, she is passionate about promoting equity and supporting racialized communities with culturally accountable, inclusive, non-judgmental, and holistic care. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi and has extensive experience working collaboratively with translators and interpreters.
