Dr. Laura Katz

Dr. Laura Katz received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Queen’s University and is a registered clinical psychologist with the Ontario College of Psychologists in the areas of Clinical, Health, & Rehabilitation Psychology. Dr. Katz is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University, as well as a psychologist at the Michael G. DeGroote Pain Clinic at McMaster University Medical Centre. Dr. Katz offers assessment and treatment services for adults with various mental health concerns including issues with mood, anxiety, life-related stressors, relationship difficulties, difficulties with sleep, and coping with chronic illness and pain and chronic pelvic pain. She primarily utilizes a cognitive-behavioural therapy framework and also includes elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, emotion-focused skills, and motivational interviewing for a client-centred approach established in evidence-based practice.
