Dr. Brian Mainland

Dr. Brian Mainland received his Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from Ryerson University. Dr. Mainland’s professional experience includes providing counselling services, as well as psychological and neuropsychological assessment services.

Dr. Mainland provides evidence-based therapy (e.g., Cognitive-Bahvioural Therapy) to support adults with various challenges, including anxiety, depression and chronic pain. He tailors his treatment approach to each client’s needs in order to build collaborative therapeutic relationships that empower clients and foster growth. His other area of research and practice pertains to neuropsychological assessment of acquired brain injury (e.g., stroke, brain tumours, traumatic brain injury, etc.) and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias). He is a current member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).

Over the past 7 years, Dr. Mainland has trained at Parkwood Institute (Acquired Brain Injury Program and Specialized Geriatric Services), University Hospital (Epilepsy Services and Neurology & Neurosurgery Services), Western University (Student Development Centre), Princess Margaret Hospital (Pencer Brain Tumour Centre), Toronto Western Hospital (Neuropsychology Clinic), Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Clinical Research Department) and Sunnybrook Health Science Centre (Neuropsychology Service).
